This Privacy Policy describes how Mediablitz Limited, trading as Clarvio Eyewear ("Clarvio", "we", "us", "our"), collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit clarvioeyewear.com or shop.clarvioeyewear.com (the "Site"), make a purchase, or otherwise communicate with us. By using the Site you agree to the collection, use and disclosure of your information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for legal or operational reasons. We will post the revised policy on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.

What information we collect

Information you give us directly

  • Order and contact details: name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number, and the items you buy.
  • Payment details: entered directly with our payment processors. We receive only confirmation of payment and the last four digits of your card; we never store full card numbers.
  • Account information, if you create a customer account: login details and order history.
  • Communications: messages you send us by email or through a contact form, including any photos you attach for a return or warranty claim.
  • Reviews, survey answers and contest entries you choose to submit.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, referring page, pages viewed, time spent and interactions with the Site, collected through cookies, pixels and similar technologies.
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address, used for fraud prevention, tax calculation and showing you the right shipping options.

Information from third parties

  • From our service providers — for example payment processors (payment confirmation and fraud signals), carriers (delivery status) and advertising platforms (which campaign brought you to us).

How we use your information

  • To provide our products and services: process payments, fulfil and deliver your order, send order confirmations and shipping updates, handle returns, exchanges and warranty claims, and provide customer support.
  • Marketing and advertising: to show you relevant advertising on the Site and on other platforms and to measure our marketing; and — only if you opt in — to send you marketing emails or texts. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Security and fraud prevention: to screen orders for fraud, protect the Site and our customers, and investigate suspicious activity.
  • Improving the Site: to understand how the Site is used and improve our products, pages and checkout.
  • Legal compliance: to comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection and other legal obligations, and to enforce our Terms of Service.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to run the Site and checkout, analytics cookies to understand usage, and advertising cookies to measure campaigns and show relevant ads. Shopify, which hosts the Site, also sets cookies; see www.shopify.com/legal/cookies. You can control cookies in your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent checkout from working. Where required by law we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

Who we share information with

  • E-commerce platforms that host the Site and checkout (Shopify and Funnelish), which store order data on our behalf.
  • Payment processors (Airwallex for card payments when enabled, and any other payment provider you select at checkout), to process your payment and screen for fraud.
  • Fulfilment and shipping partners: our fulfilment centre and carriers (for example YunExpress, USPS, UPS and FedEx), which receive your name, address, phone number and order contents to deliver your order.
  • Service providers that work on our behalf: email delivery, order management, customer-support, review and analytics tools.
  • Analytics and advertising partners: for example Google (Analytics and Ads) and Meta, which may use cookies or pixels to measure and improve advertising. Where required, we obtain your consent first.
  • Affiliates and successors: companies in our group, and a buyer or successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets.
  • Legal: when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing with advertising partners may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under some US state privacy laws; see "Your rights" below for how to opt out.

International transfers

We are based in Hong Kong and our service providers operate in Hong Kong, mainland China, the United States and other countries. Your information may therefore be transferred to, stored and processed outside the country in which you live. Where we do so, we rely on our providers' contractual commitments and safeguards to protect your information in line with this policy.

Data retention

We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfil orders, handle returns and warranty claims, resolve disputes and meet tax and accounting requirements (typically 7 years). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We delete or anonymise data that we no longer need.

Security

We use HTTPS encryption across the Site, specialist payment processors, and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

Your rights and choices

  • Access, correction, deletion and portability. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or receive a copy in a portable format. If you have a customer account you can view and update your details there. To exercise any other right, email support@clarvioeyewear.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we may retain information where required for a purchase you have made or by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
  • Marketing emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or email us. Opt-outs can take up to 10 business days to take effect and do not cover transactional emails such as order confirmations and shipping updates.
  • Targeted advertising / "sale" or "sharing" opt-out. Residents of California and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws can opt out of targeted advertising on our Your Privacy Choices page. Where applicable, privacy choices and recognised opt-out signals are handled through the privacy controls implemented on the relevant site. You can also email us to submit a request.
  • Hong Kong residents have rights of access and correction under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance; email us to exercise them.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it. Users under 18 may use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Third-party websites

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including carrier tracking pages and social-media platforms. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; please review their policies.
